This special children's seed packet collection celebrates native peoples agricultural tradition. Corn, squash and beans were planted around the year 800 in the largest Native American city north of the Rio Grande known as Cahokia, in what is now known as the state of Illinois, across the Mississippi River from St Louis, Missouri.
The seeds provided will plant one 2 foot mound and includes the seed mound varieties inspired by Three Sisters Garden tradition: White Gourdseed Corn, Scarlet Runner Bean, Rouge Vif d’Etampes Pumpkin (Winter Squash). The heritage seed packet collection is packaged in the typical manner of an 18th-century letter and sealed with red wax. The package itself opens to detailed information reflecting the history and additional growing details of each variety of seeds provided. The packet includes a recipe, Three Sister legend and coloring page.
