This fall, Les Amis du Fort de Chartres will offer 2 Art de vivre demonstration class events to be held on Saturday, October 14 and Saturday, November 4th (during Winter Rendezvous), from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the firing and general use of the Fort de Chartres stone bake oven. Join Carol & Nick Kuntz as they share the history of our Fort bake oven and the correct and safe firing techniques of a period oven. At these classes, written materials will be provided and after completion of the class, after attendees will receive a card allowing them to sign up in advance of an event for the firing and safe use demonstrating the oven. 

We will break for lunch midday. 

The combined cost of these classes will be $30 per person to cover the cost of class materials and the wood needed for the demonstration. Pre-registration is required with a class size limit of 8 persons. Contact lesamisdufortdechartres@gmail.com to sign up or for more information.
