French Colonial Kitchen Garden Herb Seeds

This collection of heritage herb seeds reflects the French Colonial culinary traditions of the Illinois Country and are currently grown in the demonstration garden at Fort de Chartres. These herbs were typical to the French Colonial period and thrive in our Fort garden (Zone 6b).

The sample heritage seed packet collection is packaged in the typical manner of an 18th century letter and sealed with red wax. The package itself opens to detailed information reflecting the history and additional growing details of each variety. Ten individual sample seed packets are contained in each collection: Basil, Coriander, Dill, Sweet Marjoram, Flat Leaf Parsley, Rosemary, Sage, Salad Burnet, Winter Savory, and French Thyme.
